Why Local Matters (A Little)

A consultant who knows your high school — the rigor of the courses, the pattern of recommendations, the way the counseling office works — can give sharper advice than one who's reading your transcript cold. Herb has worked with families across the Denver metro long enough to know what your student's profile looks like in context. And because most of admissions is national, the same consultant can be just as effective whether your student is applying to CU Boulder or to Stanford.

How We Work With Colorado Families

Most families start with the free 30-minute consultation. From there, we put together a plan that fits your student's grade, timeline, and goals — usually starting in spring of junior year, though we work with sophomores and accelerated seniors too. Meetings can happen in person in Greenwood Village or over video. Essay reviews happen asynchronously. Communication is direct — you'll talk to Herb, not a junior associate.

What's Next

Book a free 30-minute call. We'll talk about your student, your timeline, and whether HM College Consulting is the right fit. If it's not, Herb will tell you — and often point you somewhere helpful anyway.
